Accessible by Design
At DEAFOP, we are transforming access to education and health for the Deaf community through sign language technologies, inclusive content, and strategic partnerships with Deaf institutions. We believe that language access is a fundamental right, essential for inclusion, dignity, and development.
Guided by this belief, our work is structured around three interconnected pillars that shape the way we design and deliver our programs.
Digital Solutions

- Deaf Digital Library (Offline LMS): An offline enabled Learning Management System designed to provide curriculum aligned content in Kenyan Sign Language for Deaf learners across various educational levels.
- SRHR Sign Language Mobile App (Android & iOS): A mobile application offering sexual and reproductive health information in KSL, tailored specifically for Deaf youth, girls, and women.

Inclusive Content Development
At DEAFOP, we believe equitable education starts with accessible learning materials in the learner’s language. For Deaf students, this means content in Kenyan Sign Language. Yet, most resources are in written or audio formats which significantly contributes to low learning outcomes for Deaf learners.
To bridge this gap, we work with Deaf educators and communities to develop, translate, localize, and digitize education and reproductive health content in Kenyan Sign Language and use our technologies for affordable dissemination and access

Access Support and SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
At DEAFOP, we believe meaningful education for Deaf learners begins with access, access to learning resources and supportive learning environments.
That’s why we partner directly with Deaf schools to integrate our Deaf Digital Library into everyday classroom use, enriching learning experiences through accessible content.
To complement this, we run our own TVET institution, the Institute for Disability Training (IDT), established to bridge the transition gap through practical training in skills that are essential for independence and sustainable livelihoods beyond school.
